“STEP BY STEP, THE CYCLE IS COMPLETED FOR ‘PURE HARVEST’.”
Frylapte, Here and Now
Fry stands for Fryslân, as well as freedom. Lapte is Romanian for “milk.” Combined, this forms Frylapte, the company founded by Paula Bos and Paulus Dijkstra in Romania. In 2012, they started with contract work. Through crowdfunding, they established the dairy farm in 2014. The passionate entrepreneurs gave an inspiring presentation in a Friesland countryside café. They generated so much enthusiasm that within two months they had raised the necessary start-up capital to establish a dairy farm with 100 cows.

Paula Bos:
“I grew up on a dairy farm in Bolsward and was instilled with entrepreneurship from a young age. Even during and after my HBO studies in ‘Agricultural Business Management’ at Van Hall Institute, I was frequently found on our dairy farm. Social, entrepreneurial, driven, people-oriented. Good qualities in business insight, networking, structures, and PRACTICAL MANAGEMENT AROUND DAIRY CATTLE.”

Social, positive, good sense of humor, and enthusiastic. Good qualities in the areas of personnel management, organization, networking, trade, and the practical implementation of land management and forage production.

The roots of the founders of Frylapte are in the Frisian ‘Greidhoeke’. This is the green heart of Friesland between the Elfsteden cities of Leeuwarden, Franeker, Bolsward, and Sneek. Traditionally, dairy cattle have been kept for dairy production on the extensive green meadows. However, this rich history cannot prevent profitable farming from becoming increasingly difficult in the future. But while contraction is necessary here, growth is the norm for Eastern Europe. Romania offers good perspectives and opportunities to utilize the agricultural knowledge and action-oriented mentality from Friesland to professionalize food production and sustainably develop the ‘backward’ rural areas of Romania.
Frisian Roots Well-Planted in Romania
Paula and Paulus open their company, knowledge, and contacts to entrepreneurs, employees, and investors who want to harvest purely with us.
The infrastructure, agricultural knowledge, and technology in Romania lag behind that of the Netherlands, but the soil is fertile. It is precisely this combination of factors that, together with the knowledge, contacts, and experience of Frylapte, offers pure harvest opportunities in Romania. By working together with the local population to improve agricultural yields step by step in a sustainable way, everyone can earn a good and healthy living. By learning to speak each other's language—both literally and figuratively—you can move forward together. That is the strength of Frylapte. And that is exactly what is offered to anyone who wants to work, invest, or do business in the agricultural sector in Romania. FryLapte, FryWork, and FryInvest.

From milk producer to brand producer.
A further step towards sustainability is to bring our own milk to the market. This improves the economic performance and quality from start to finish, as the crown on the work!

Frylapte now consists of two dairy farms with about 400 dairy cows and 250 young stock. The goal is to grow into independent units of at least 250 dairy cows. The feed for the cows increasingly comes from their own sources. Through a gradual process, external feed sources are reduced to ultimately become self-sufficient. Resources and energy are used as efficiently as possible. Emissions of harmful substances are limited, among other things by returning manure to their own plots to improve soil yield. Step by step, the cycle is completed for a “pure harvest.” Under the leadership of Paula and Paulus, the company is run independently with about 10-15 employees. Financing is arranged through bonds. Bondholders of Frylapte receive a monthly newsletter and an annual return of 4% on their investment.
